Hyper-V and Linux

When using Hyper-V to host a Linux, Red Hat Enterprise, CentOS, and Oracle Linux with Red Hat Compatible Kernel versions 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 6.8, 7.2, and 7.3 you will want to install the Linux Integration Services Version 4.1 for Hyper-V from Microsoft which provides a set of drivers that enable synthetic device support in supported virtual machines under Hyper-V.

I had issues with backup of one of my CentOS and Linux machines and these drivers resolved these issues since it provided further support for "Live Linux virtual machine backup support: Facilitates zero downtime backup of running Linux virtual machines."
