“Disable” the Send Welcome E-mail To The New Users

When adding new Users to the SharePoint Site Settings, the Send welcome e-mail to the new users is checked by default. To disable this you can make the following modifications to your SharePoint Farm.

  1. Navigate to the following on each Web Front End Server
    1. Program Files > Common Files > Microsoft Shared > Web server extensions > 14 > Template > Layouts
    2. Open the AclInv.aspx in notepad (Back this file up before making any modifications)
      1. Locate the line with wssawc:InputFormCheckBox

        wssawc:InputFormCheckBox

        runat="server"

        id="chkSendEmail"

        Checked="True"

        LabelText="<%$Resources:wss,aclver_SendEmailCheckbox%>"

        ToggleChildren=true>

      2. Change the value Checked="True" to Checked="False"
      3. Save and Close
